WATCH YOUR SUGAR!

Do you know how much sugar is too much sugar to consume in a day?

According to the American Heart Association, women should consume no more than 25 grams or 6 teaspoons of sugar.  Men should have no more than 37.5 grams or 9 teaspoons. Depending on your child’s age, the recommendation is for anywhere between 12-33 grams.  The problem is, we’re all getting way too much!! Check out that soda or juice the next time you have one.  If the sugar content on that isn’t an eye opener, nothing is! The sugar in sodas and snacks are the added sugars we know, but the truth is there is sugar in many of the foods we eat like ketchup, spaghetti sauce.  Be mindful of the sugar content in the food you eat for an entire day.  When you add it up, you may be surprised by just how much you’re taking in.  Time to make a change!
